Notebook Set-Up Notebooks are kept in class, in your folder, but can be taken home to complete an activity or prepare for an upcoming summative. It MUST come back with you. While my process of keeping a notebook might seem silly or nit-picky to you, please know that the goal is that it will help you to learn and/or enhance organization skills (something many of you are not good at ) by keeping track of your own work The expectation is that you will use the notebook to your advantage to master the content of this course Thursday

Setting up your Notebook First, turn four pages and leave them blank. Next, begin numbering the next 30 pages, I will show you how. Bottom Right Hand Corner! 1

Setting up your Notebook Any time you put something in your notebook, make sure you title it as directed so it’s easy to identify and locate. Bellringer #1 8/23/17 Begin your assignment below your title.

Graded Material Without the TOC, you will earn a ZERO I usually grade your notebooks once a marking period, and it is a summative grade. I will give you an approximate week/day as to when I will be grading it. I don’t look at everything. I look for about 5-7 entries, and I will know which entries ahead of time, but you will not. If you don’t have a Table of Contents, I don’t go looking for the entries, so keep your TOC up-to-date. When absent, make sure you check the website to see if there were any notes that day or check with a friend. Make sure your notebook is neat and organized and your writing is legible. Sometimes you might have two entries per page, maybe more (don’t waste paper), so you will highlight each entry so that I can (and you can) easily find entries.
