18 Dear parents and guardians,
Your child will be participating in our school reading fair. This is an opportunity for them to demonstrate their presentation skills. They will pick out and read a book of their choice for this project. Then they will be making a tri-fold poster to use as they present their project. You can help at home in a couple of ways. First, You will need to purchase a white tri-fold poster board for you child. They will select a book next week and figure out how many pages they need to read each day. You can help them by checking to make sure the daily reading assignments get completed. You can also ask them questions about the plot, characters, setting, conflict, resolution, point of view, and theme. These items will be on their tri-fold poster. They will have one class period, during the week of February 20, to work on their poster. If they do not complete it during that class period, they will need to complete their poster at home. You can help by making sure this project gets done before the due date. Your child has an instruction sheet for the novel project and the poster.   Students need to finish their book by: February 9 Posters are due by: March 1 Reading fair date: March 2 Thanks for your support from home!   Mrs. Markland

All text should be black or dark in color so it is easy to read (Title can be a different color) Pictures should be clear and big enough to see. Feel free to be creative, but make sure the creativity does not hinder the reader from being able to learn from the content on your poster. You may also bring "props" to put on the table in front of your poster to add to the presentation. Please do not bring valuable items as they can be stolen.
