6 Absent Student Responsibilities
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to obtain notebook assignments from a reliable student, the basket or the website. Acceptable times to catch up are before/after class or if we are working independently in class. Unacceptable times are when we are working together as a whole class or when you are assigned to work independently or within a group on a specific assignment.

7 Expectations on Making Use of the Notebook
Class time is given to work on in class assignments so be sure to manage this time wisely Notebooks are kept in class, in your folder, but can be taken home to complete an activity or study for an upcoming summative The expectation is that you will use the notebook to your advantage to master the content of this course The goal of the notebook is to learn and/or enhance organization skills by keeping track of your own work

8 Initial Set Up 1. The notebook should be set up following the directions given in class: Set up table of contents, in three columns, with this heading: Page #, Subject, Date Leave four pages BLANK (that’s 8 front and back) for the t.o.c. (a new one each nine weeks) Number every page AFTER the t.o.c. in the bottom right hand corner (it is easiest to do all odds first, then fill in the evens) 2. The table of contents must be updated regularly and will be checked during each notebook check. Without the t.o.c., you will earn a ZERO on the summative check!

9 Cover Décor! Using photos, clippings, markers, glue, paper, and scissors, etc., decorate the cover of your Interactive Student Notebook as if it were the cover to a book that tells the story of YOUR life thus far.
