Abraham Maslow Hierarchy of Needs

Abraham Maslow (1908 – 1970) Psychologist who linked social, physiological and emotional needs in a hierarchy of basic needs. Maslow's Hierarchy of needs is usually presented as a pyramid. Proposes that basic physical needs must be satisfied before higher needs are met. Each level of need must be satisfied before moving on to the next level. Only when lower needs of physical and emotional needs are satisfied can a child progress to the next level.
