Angelina and Sarah GrimkeDaughters of slave owners, gave speeches against slavery. William Lloyd GarrisonPublisher of the Liberator, an antislavery newspaper.

4 CAUSE Women lack the right to vote, own property, and to keep their wages CAUSE Women who supported the antislavery movement found their actions to be limited. EFFECTS Women’s rights leaders demand equal rights for women in education, careers, and the right to vote. Leaders gave speeches. More schools opened for women, more legal rights extended, and women entered male dominate careers
