6. Entering Class I will always be standing outside the door,l greeting my students as you enter my class-a greeting would be appreciated. Go to your seat quietly and start your focus on the overhead. When I ask a question please respond with Yes/No Ma’am. Respect will be shown to all your teachers and fellow students.

7. Using the Restroom Please go to the bathroom and get water between classes. Students will have 1 emergency pass per 9 weeks.

9. What if I miss School? I advice students to check my school website or edmodo-daily. This way they will not fall behind. · County policy gives you FIVE days to make up work from an EXCUSED absence · Refer my website, edmodo or another student to see what you missed · Always have a group member to get missed notes · If you need a worksheet or guided note taker to complete missed work, see me. · I am willing to work together with you in the case of extended illnesses, family emergencies, etc. · Please see me ahead of time if you know that you will be out for a few days and would like to take work with you.

How I teach Cornell notes or Thinking Maps from lecture and from reading (taking notes if very important) · Group activities where a problem or question is presented or students create a product together · Activities where you will be asked to create pieces of writing. You will be asked to evaluate and analyze events we have studied

12. TEST-Quizzes-Binders TEST: Consist of multiple choice, map graphs, short responses and essay question. Reviews will be given prior to any test. Projects: There will be 4-5 projects throughout the school year. Projects will not be accepted late without prior notice. Assignments: Consist of all class work given throughout the year. Quizzes: Quizzes will be given after each chapter section. These are not reviewed and require student effort to study. One inch Binders: You will only keep World History class information in this binder and will need to bring it to class daily. World History-7 th, students name, period, and my name will be at the opening of the notebook. It is a way to further develop the student’s organizational skills.

13. Attendance, Extended Learning Attendance/ Extended Learning: Students will get points each day for attending class and completing their extended learning; it will be checked daily. If the student is absent on the day the assignment was given, they will have 5 days to turn in the assignment and/or homework. However if the student is absent the day the assignment is due, with the prior notice, the student will be expected to turn in the assignment/HL upon their return. Participation: Class participation is an essential part of student growth in all academic subjects. A student alone decides what they will receive in participation. I highly encourage students to be prepared for class and participate with enthusiasm!

14. Rules and Procedures Classroom Rules and Procedures Students will be on time and PREPARED. RESPECT. Student will respect one another- this will include views. Students will enter the classroom quietly and begin Focus work on board before the second bell. Raise your hand for questions and to move about the room. Students will leave all food, gum and drinks outside. Students will not bully or tease any student. HAVE FUN!! This is one of the most important rules. Education is offered to improve your life. Enjoy it.

15. Students will begin Focus work before the second bell rings. Students will be seated with their book and notebook opened to Focus and will begin completing focus prior to the second bell ringing. Students will not come to the teacher, who is busy taking attendance with any questions at this time-see me after class or before school starts. Students will raise their hand to speak or move about the room at all times. To keep disruption to a minimum and to maximize learning, students wishing to speak or move about the room while completing class assignments will raise their hands; this keeps other students from being disrupted while completing their class work.
