WELCOME TO 3 RD GRADE!! My name: Mrs. Tackett My family: I am married to Mr. Tackett. We have one son named Carter and a daughter named Ava Beth. I went to school at St. Paul and went to college at the UofA. I live in a little town of Japton, AR. My favorite subject in school was MATH! I chose to be a teacher because I want to make a difference in YOUR life!! Watch this… http://www.youtube.com/watch/?v=eWXOurnVTYg

Mrs. Tackett’s Rules RESPECT others and RESPECT their things. Recognize that everyone is different and has different ways of learning. Hang coats and backpacks on the hook with your number. When you come into the room, please sit down at your desk and quietly wait for instructions. When Mrs. Tackett is teaching, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION. PLEASE be polite - - - say “yes ma’am” or “no ma’am” or “yes sir” or “no sir” when addressing an adult. When I am talking to someone, please do not interrupt unless you have a B Emergency... blood, bathroom, or barf. Please do not back talk! Thank you!

DO NOT ON TOP Please replace AR and other books back on the shelf where they belong. DO NOT put any books from the classroom bookshelves in your desk. Please leave them ON TOP of your desk or in your browsing box. Thanks! Each day I put what we will be learning on the board. The bulletin board has LOTS of useful information. Please use it. If you have a question, please stay seated, raise your hand, and wait to be called on. Please do not yell out or follow me around the room. ALWAYS ALWAYS do your best on every assignment.

All completed papers go in the turn in crate next to the computer under the bulletin board. When it is time to line up to go somewhere, please stand quietly, push in your chair, and keep your hands to yourself.

Elk Promises (Class Rules) We will come to school prepared to learn. We will respect others and work as a team. We will keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves. We will not interfere in the learning of others. We will raise our hands and wait for permission to speak.

CLIP-CHART Everyone starts the day on Ready to Learn (GREEN). During the day, I might ask you to move your clothespins up or down the chart based on the behavioral choices you make. If you make good choices, you can move your clothespin up ONE level. Inappropriate or poor behavior can cause you to move down a level. Making it to the top of the chart is not easy, but you can do it. You can also make it off the chart. Your clothespin will go on my lanyard.

Some ways you may clip down: interrupt me when I'm teaching are disrespectful to another student or adult being loud or purposely keeping another student from learning not following the rules in the classroom as well as out of the classroom

Conduct Marks If you DON’T follow the rules, you will have to move down the chart and will receive conduct marks. If you end the day on yellow "Think About It," you will have to walk an extra lap or miss some recess as you think about your behavior. You will get one conduct mark for the day. If you end the day on orange "Teacher's Choice," you will either sit at the detention table during lunch or miss recess. You will get two conduct marks for the day. If you end the day on red "Parent Contact," you will sit at the detention table at lunch for two days or miss two days of recess and I will write a note or call your parents to explain you behavior and what rules were broken as well as the actions taken to solve the problem. If you continue the behavior, you will be sent to the principal’s office. A call home will be made and you may be put into isolation. This is a desk set away from the rest of the class with an isolation box around it. This allows you to still hear the lesson but you can’t see anyone around you.

Some ways you can clip up: go the extra mile to help a student or teacher in need are the first or second to do what I ask are extra polite and respectful do amazingly good work

At the end of the week: Each day, you will document on a calendar what color you end the day on. At the end of the week, if you mainly have: green- good job blue- 1 hole punch on your punch card purple- 1 hole punch on your punch card and 1 prize certificate pink or off the chart- 2 hole punches on your punch card and 2 prize certificates

Off the chart prize certificates: sit by a friend for a day pass (the most popular) sit in my teacher chair for a day pass (second most popular) free assignment pass lunch in the classroom bring in a toy or book to share with the class choose an extra special treasure from the prize box extra computer time
