3 Class Policies  Attendance  Tardies  Materials

4 Attendance You should always try to be in class unless you are so sick that you risk infecting the others around you If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to discover what was missed and to make up any work required Class schedules and assignments can be found on the website-bookmark it at home so you can access it easily

5 Tardies  You are tardy if you are not in the room when the bell has finished ringing  3 tardies will result in a morning detention You must serve a ten minute detention in my room before 1 st hour starts You must serve a ten minute detention in my room before 1 st hour starts  4 tardies will result in a morning detention You must serve a twenty minute detention in my room before 1 st hour starts You must serve a twenty minute detention in my room before 1 st hour starts  More than 4 tardies will be referred to the office  Failure to serve morning detentions will result in a referral to the office

11 Make-Up Work and Tests  If you are absent, it is your responsibility to learn about any missed assignment and complete it  The easiest way to do this is to check the Stoughton Site  Excused absences do not mean excused assignments  Tests can be made-up before/after school or during a study hall-it is up to you to schedule it

13 School Expectations  It is the expectation of the school that you are present, on time, prepared, and ready to learn

14 Class Expectations  It is the expectation of your classmates that you treat everyone with respect  When someone else is supposed to be talking, that means you are NOT supposed to be talking This includes the teacher This includes the teacher

18 Teacher  Hi, I’m Mr. Stoughton  I’m here in the mornings (except probably Wednesday mornings when we have PLC meetings)  I’m here after school (but when it is really hot, I might cut out at like 3:20)  I’m off from teaching 3 rd and 7 th hours  Just let me know you are coming!

19 Book  Look through your textbook, there are tons of resources, glossaries, instructions, and other fun things in there

20 Website  I gave you the URL for the Stoughton Site, I recommend you bookmark it at home so you don’t have to type it in all the time  The daily presentations, assignments, documents, and schedule are all available, as well as a discussion board where you can ask questions-I try to check once a night

21 The Library  The school library is filled with helpful people who know their stuff  Also, the public library is a great place to find resources and meet with classmates outside of school Some people prefer Border’s or Barne’s and Noble’s (they have coffee) Some people prefer Border’s or Barne’s and Noble’s (they have coffee)

22 Classmates  Which brings us to the people around you Sometimes the guy next to you picked up on something you missed…ask him.
