What is it? An exaggerated or unrealistic fear of something specific. Phobias interfere with normal, everyday activities

What are the symptoms of it? Extreme anxiety, panic and fear when encountering something particular.

What treatment is available? Therapy

What causes phobias? Can be any of the following but many times the cause is unknown Having a scary experience with something in particular Genetics Something traumatic

What are some examples of phobias? Agoraphobia- fear or worry over having a panic attack Social phobia- fear of being embarrassed in front of others
