The Haunted My Film Idea

Main Plot I have decided to do a Horror film, with a sub-genre of Thriller. My main Character (The Killer) will be a woman, who stalks her victims for various reasons. She sends them messages through a variety of ways, such as leaving presents outside their door or text messages. Throughout the film, tension would build up as the messages get scarier and more developed and the victims, no matter what they do, even if they move house, can’t get away from the killer, and from what they see, they’re in danger, as the messages develop and tensions build, the killer kills each victim in a range of grotesque ways.

Where I got my plot ideas from I got the idea of the victims being killed in grotesque ways from the film, “Saw”, In this film I thought the chilling and gruesome means of killing people may have added to it’s box office success. Although I am aware that initially, in America it was rated NC-17, but after being slightly re-edited it was rated R, I will have to keep this in mind and take my target audience in to consideration when filming.

Where I got my plot ideas from I thought of the idea of the killer stalking their victims and maybe being mentally disturbed after watching an episode of “CSI”, which included a stalker, this idea would add the thriller element to my film, however, I did have to elaborate a bit to create a more tense atmosphere and make it more of a horror, such as the killer sending threatening letters and not just stalking them, but killing them.

My Characters Main killer: Once again I took inspiration from the stalker in CSI, however I have decided to make my killer a female, which will challenge forms and conventions. I also want to make my Stalker a lot more vicious, whereas the one in CSI turned out to be fairly harmless and thought the woman he stalked loved him, I want my character to be a loner, be resentful and have hatred towards her victims.

My Characters My victims: After deciding about my killer, I just had to decide what type of people my victims would be, I have decided that the victims will have turned out to have done something bad towards the killer at some stage in their lives, but this won’t be revealed until the end.

Finally… Overall, I have got my inspirations for some of my ideas from other films and TV shows, However, I have elaborated on each and will not be using the same script ideas. I hope by including a sub-genre of a Thriller in my film, it will add a bit more excitement and tension throughout, and hopefully keep the viewers engaged.

Thank you
