1 Evaluation question 4

2 The core audience of our film
The film itself would be aimed at everybody but more so at young adults (15 – 18) or adults (18+) males and females and other people could be drawn in depending on what the film is about and particularly the characters in it or the director etc. Say the main character is religious it could draw in more religious people because the main character has something about him the interests religious people.

3 The target audience Its not very specific but its aimed at both men and women but people aged 15+ because the narrative is quite complex and it also contains violence and strong language etc. which wouldn’t really be suitable for children. This would obviously limit the amount of viewers we get because the younger age range isn’t allowed to watch it but the numbers that do view can still be quite high.

4 Will it appeal more towards men or women
There is not much of a difference between or it'll be aimed at it much depends on the taste of film she or he has if they like thriller films they will enjoy the film we have not made the film to be aimed at an individual sex it is for both men and women to enjoy and leaving the audience open as to who its aimed at means more people can watch it and we’ll have a wider range of viewers.

5 Young audience or a wider range group
I think the younger side of the audience would just want to see it because of the violence and strong language whereas the elder side maybe aged between (18 – 30) might want to watch it for the same reasons but also for the narrative to follow the story and to try and actually understand the plot of the film itself for example a film like ‘kidulthood’ contains a lot of violence but also has a story to it some might watch it for the violence whereas other might watch it for the story etc.

6 Discuss this in relation to the type of Thriller and the content and style of your film.
The sub genre to thriller in our opening title sequence would be horror and there are many reasons for this. Benedict black is very psychotic and has a twisted way of seeing things and is a very vengeful person and wants revenge on a childhood bully. He also gets enjoyment out of seeing others pain and agony and see’s the idea of causing Sam Cooke the same pain as he caused him as a almost fun thing to do and all out of revenge as his past bullying had a massive effect on his future.

7 What other Thriller films are similar to yours and how did they attract their audience?
‘Se7en’ is very similar probably because a lot of our ideas came from ‘se7en’ because a lot about that film gave us inspiration i.e. the pictures and the antagonist genius etc. They made an action packed Thriller film and also had some very big stars in there including Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt who are very famous and well known actors which would of course interest people more to see a well known face in a film. Also ‘collateral’ was an inspiration as we took the idea of a smart antagonist like in the film Tom Cruise was dressed smartly and was an unexpected antagonist and they would have done well with the film yet again its very action packed and also has a well known face to it.

8 What rating would you give it and why?
I would rate the film personally 15+ for a few reasons. Mainly it contains a lot of violence and some disturbing images which would be unsuitable for younger people and children it also contains strong language and we don’t want to encourage young people and kids to swear because they heard it on a film so overall I would aim the film at young adults or older and I think they would also understand it more than younger kids would because the narrative is quite complex.
