To Mrs. Tirrito’s Accelerated Algebra II class!

What you need for Class!! 1) A binder or a flexi notebook (by Mead) and a folder 2) Calculator – not a cell phone 3) Pencils 4) Textbook – it says at home I DO NOT lend out writing utensils or calculators, the only thing I have to lend is erasers! Grading 1)Quizzes (worth about points)– 1 sometimes 2 a chapter; students have 5 days to make it up. It may be made up before school, in class (students are still responsible for what we do that day and the homework), or during lunch 2) Tests (worth about 60 points)- 5 days to make up during the same time as quizzes My main webpage calendar will have quiz/test dates on it as well as the homework board

Review 1)For a quiz: the day before the quiz in class. 2) For a test: Review the day before in class, we may review 2 days 3) Homework (is given every day) and worth 1 point each, it can be found on the homework board and assignment sheet, which can be found on my webpage (how long a student is absent for is how long they have to make it up) It is updated every two weeks in the portal. Dates are on my webpage. If a student is absent it will go into the portal as a 0 until the next update if it is made up in the allotted time. The homework is due the day after it is given. No Late Homework!! Homework is All or Nothing, if even 1 problem is not done it is nothing. A question mark or redrawing the picture does not count as doing the problem and will earn you no points. I just want to see that there was some effort on solving the problem.

The marking period average is weighted with the following categories and percentages: a) Homework: 10% b) Quizzes/Tests: 90% Example: GradeTotal points Quiz:2530 Test:5260 Quiz: 2432 Total Homework:810 Average: 0.10(8/10) (101/122) = 0.10(80) (82.8) = = B

Help Hours 1)Every morning from 7:35 – 8:00 2) After school until 3pm 3) In the math resource room (RM 101) periods 4-7 Extra Credit 1) There is no extra credit in this class. If it is given it will only be given to the whole class. Address: I check my every school day that I am here by 7:30 am. If you me after that time I will not read it until the following morning. If you would like an update on anything please every time you would like one.

Cell Phones There are NO cell phones in class at any time for any reason There is NO reason to have a cell phone out in math class.

Expectations My expectations are high for all students because I know that they can be accomplished with a little effort and I want my students to succeed in this and future math classes. If a student misses class for any reason it is their responsibility to get the notes from a classmate or come in and get them from me. Homework can be found on the homework board or the assignment sheet. All worksheets can be found in the bin on the side of the room. If a student is going on a field trip they must get the review packet from me the day before the field trip or the day of. I am always walking around the room when they are doing problems on their own so that they can ask for help.
