Topics TERMS 1 and 2 – Ancient Greeks, Forces and Reversible changes in Science TERMS 3 and 4 – Around the world in 80 days, Space in Science TERMS 5 and 6 – Anglo Saxons and Vikings, Life Cycles in Science

Core subjects Literacy –Texts from significant authors –Traditional stories, myths and legends –Stories from other cultures –Older Literature –Film narrative –Dramatic conventions –Instructions –Reports and explanations –Persuasive writing –Poetry

Core subjects Numeracy –Number – Number and Place Value (including Roman Numerals) –Number – Addition and subtraction –Number – Multiplication and division –Number – fractions including decimals & % (including adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions) –Measurement –Geometry – Properties of shape –Geometry – Position and direction –Statistics

Homework Monday – Diaries are signed and checked. Spellings and given out. Tuesday – Maths homework and Language and Literacy Orange books handed in. Wednesday – Nothing at the moment! Thursday – Literacy homework given. Friday – Spellings are tested in sentences. Maths homework given. Reading for 10 minutes five times a week. Maths homework will be weekly with Literacy and Language Orange books for half a term linked to our Literacy. In term two onwards, there will be projects to be completed over the term, linked to the topic work.
