1 Curriculum Homework Expectations and Daily Routine Rewards and Sanctions How you can help

2 Literacy We will be continuing learning how to spell. We will also be focusing on historical stories, newspapers, stories set in imaginary worlds and poetry. Numeracy We will be continuing to improve our skills in adding, subtracting, multiplying, telling the time, fractions and problem-solving. Science We will be learning about changes of state and sound. History We are thinking about the Viking and Anglo Saxon struggle for the Kingdom of England. Geography We will be looking at Longitude and Latitude and time zones around the world ICT We will be using ICT to edit text, and create text for different audiences. Art and DT We will be developing sketchbooks in Art and focusing on Construction in DT Music We will be investigating pentatonic scales. RE We will be focusing on Islam. PE We will be improving our games and outdoor adventure skills PSHCE We will be considering new beginnings and getting on and falling out. French. We will be looking at how children can talk about themselves in French and looking at colours, and Christmas.

3 Literacy We will be writing explanation texts, stories form other cultures and exploring forms of poetry. Numeracy We will continue to extend the children’s mathematical knowledge. Science We will be learning about electricity, where food goes and what teeth do. History We are studying an aspect of our local history. Geography We will be looking at the Human and physical Geography of Europe and the Americas. ICT We will be using ICT to create music and research our history. Art and DT We will be designing a product using electricity and improving our painting and sculpture techniques RE We will be focusing on Christianity. PE We will be improving our gymnastic skills and designing invasion games. PSHCE We will be considering going for goals.

4 Literacy We will be writing stories which raise dilemmas or issues, persuasive texts and writing and performing our own plays. Numeracy We will be continuing to extend the children’s numeracy skills. Science We will be learning about food chains and who we are. History We will look at what the Tudors did for us/ why we remember them. Geography We will take a closer look at earthquakes. ICT We will be using ICT to create travel presentations and practise our art skills. Art and DT We will be focusing at great artists and designers in Art and making something using sewing in DT. Music We will be writing and performing our own singing games for the playground. RE We will be focusing on Rules and Codes. PE We will be practising our athletic and dance skills. PSHCE We will be considering changes and relationships.

5  Monday - Homework  Tuesday - Times tables  Thursday - Spellings Though this could change depending on the topic or detail required – check diaries.  Daily-Reading (15 mins)

6  Way of communicating  Recording of homework or items to bring in to school

7 The children are expected to present their work as they would in school. Some children keep their homework in a file to help them be organised and neat. It is handed in to the homework tray.

8  Daily reading  Reading record checked every week  Book changing  Recording of words to learn  Raising the profile of reading

9 In school every day: Homework diaries Reading books and records Pencil cases PE kits Water bottles PE days – Tuesday and Thursday (usually, but this may change.)

10  Uniform and neatness  Jewellery – watch, stud earrings  No earrings for PE  Hair will need to be tied back

12 Support with reading and homework. Test the children’s number bonds, times tables and spellings regularly. Use school computation policy (on website). Discussions with children. Parent helpers Parents Evenings
