The Tiger Team 7 th Grade Expectations, Rules, and Procedures

MONDAY  Lockers  PTA Packet  Tiger Team Packet

Lockers  Lock: It should be on your locker at all times.  Name card: This should also remain on your locker at all times!  When can you visit your locker? Beginning of the day After 2nd Core/Before Lunch and Electives After you return from 2 nd Elective End of the day

Locker Assignment  Take out your agenda and turn to page 2.  Use the lock you are given to fill in the following information: On the first line for Lock Serial Number, fill in the number on the back of your lock. Under ‘additional information,’ write down your locker combination from your locker card.  Now you will be assigned a locker. Fill in the locker number in your agenda on page 2.

PTA Packet  Take these materials home to your parents and return them by Friday!

Tiger Team Packet  Take this packet home to your parents and return it to your homeroom teacher by Friday!

TUESDAY  Morning and afternoon procedures  Hallway movement  Agenda Use  Hall passes  SSR  Absences

Morning Procedures  Come into the gym when you arrive. Do not come to core classes early or visit past teachers.  Upon dismissal from the gym, go to your locker and then report to first core.  You will be counted tardy if you arrive to class after 8:15- regardless of what time you arrived on campus.

Hallway Movement o Hallways/Stairs o You are to use the stairwell that is closet to our team area! “Outside” staircase for now. o You are not permitted in any of the other teams’ “pod” areas! o Core Class Transitions o Line up silently outside of your next class, and wait for the other class to completely exit before you enter.

Dismissal Procedures  You will dismissed by your teacher after the announcements.  You are to get your belongings from your locker and leave the hallway in an orderly fashion.  You are to report directly to the bus loop or carpool area.  Remember: No cell phones or iPods may be out or turned on until you are out of the building.

Agenda Use  You are REQUIRED to record the homework items listed on the board in your agenda for each core class.  If you choose not to record your assignments in your agenda (your teachers will do random checks), you will receive an infraction for being unprepared.  There will be occasional agenda use checkpoints.  YOU MUST HAVE YOUR AGENDA WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES!

Set Up Hall Passes  At this time, take out your agenda and follow the instructions given to set up your hall passes for the year!  You will have 16 passes for the quarter—use them wisely!

SSR  Your Tiger Team teachers will carve out time regularly during the normal class time for SSR.  You are expected to have an SSR book with you at all times so you are prepared for SSR.  You are expected to read silently to yourself during this time.

Absences  If you are absent from school, it is your responsibility to make up work that you missed.  If you know that you’re going to be absent, check with your teachers during Spartan Time before you leave.  If you can, check the Weebly for work while you’re absent.  When you return, it is your responsibility to use Spartan Time to catch up on missing work.  You have the same amount of days to make up work as the number of days you were absent. (1=1, 2=2, etc.)

WEDNESDAY  Behavior Plan  Incomplete Work Policy  Student of the Week

Team Behavior Plan  Rewards: During Spartan Time about every 2 weeks, we will have a reward day for students who have earned it. During this time, students will enjoy a reward either in the gym or on team for their good behavior.  Consequences: Students who have more than 3 signatures will not be able to participate in this reward. These students will stay in a classroom and complete a reflection.

Behavior  If you are found to be misbehaving in class or in the hallway, the teacher will tell you to “sign the pink sheet.”  You will place the date and the code next to your name on the clipboard.

Behavior Disrespect (D) Late (L) Unprepared (U) Following Directions/ Off-Task (T) Missing Spartan Stamp (S) Talking back, arguing, or any unsuitable response to teachers directions or being unkind to peers Tardy to class Arriving in class without supplies and materials required to work Failure to follow directions; engaged in activities other than class work Wrong place for Spartan Time

Incomplete Homework  You are expected to have all assignments with you in class on the day that they are due.  If you don’t, your teacher will ask you to “sign the pink sheet.”  In the column on the right labeled “Homework,” you will place the date in one of the boxes.  If you get to 10 missing assignments in all of your classes combined, you will be assigned After-School Detention (ASD)  Students who maintain a high average of homework completion will get the opportunity to earn prizes from the prize box!

Student of the Week  Each week, the Tiger Team Teachers will select one student who exemplifies the characteristics of the PRIDE acronym.  This student’s name will appear on the scrolling announcements and a postcard will go home to families.

THURSDAY  Cell phone/electronic policy  BYOT Policy  Technology Survey  Weebly

Cell Phone/Electronics Policy  Cell phones and all electronic devices (iPods, etc.) are to be turned OFF when you enter the school building in the morning.  If you have them with you, they must be OFF!  You may not have your cell phone turned on until 3 PM- when you leave the school building, unless instructed by a teacher.

Technology Survey  Please complete the survey!

BYOT If a teacher allows students to bring a device for classroom use: That student MUST have a signed BOYD Contract! The student must follow the school policy for devices when they leave that classroom! No Excuses Accepted! Example: ‘I have my cell phone turned on because Ms. X allowed me to use it’ will still result in consequences per School and Team Policy!

Tiger Team Weebly  Open to Page 2 of your agenda:  Tiger Team Homework Website-
