WHAT IS STRESS? A non-specific response of the body to any demand or challenge. An inevitable aspect of life Can be both positive and negative

EUSTRESS SOME EXAMPLES: Meeting or engaging in a challenge. Coming in first place in a race. Getting a promotion at your job. Love, marriage, Sexual intercourse or childbirth. Engaging in exercise, especially weight training. Good stress that helps us perform better.

DISTRESS Stress can be created by influences such as work, school, peers or co-workers, family and death. Bad stress that makes us upset or sick.

6 TYPES OF STRESS 1.PHYSICAL STRESS: exercise, injury 2.EMOTIONAL STRESS: relationships, anger 3.SOCIAL STRESS: compliments/embarassment 4.INTELLECTUAL STRESS: mental fatigue, challenging problem 5.SPIRITUAL (MORAL) STRESS: doing a good deed/guilt 6.ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS: irritations of everyday life.
