Rules and Procedures

Rule #1  Be in your assigned seat and working on the bell-ringer immediately after the tardy bell rings.  If you are not in your seat when I begin taking attendance, you WILL be counted late to class!

Rule #2  Treat everything and everyone in this room with respect.  I will treat you as adults as long as you maintain the behavior of an adult.

Rule #3  Follow directions the FIRST time they are given!

Rule #4  Bring ALL required materials to class and take them with you when you leave.  It is rude to leave a mess in the classroom, so if you are frequently guilty of this, I hold the right to throw away anything left behind.

Rule #5  Follow ALL procedures and policies as they are outlined in your student handbook.  Specifically the prohibition on the use of electronic devices (cell phones, gaming devices, iPads) without the permission of the instructor.

Special Notice  Any student who uses profanity, fights, damages school property (this includes the property of the teacher and other students), or is disrespectful (as defined by the teacher) will be sent to the office IMMEDIATELY.

Classroom Procedures

Entering the Room 1.Enter the room quietly, like adults. 2.Sit in your assigned seat. 3.Take out your materials. 4.Start working on the bell-ringer (this will be posted on the projector screen).

Getting Your Attention I will – 1.Stand in front of the class. 2.Ask for your attention. 3.Wait for everyone to stop talking. 4.Begin discussion on the bell-ringer.

Absent Work  If you are absent from class, you will need to check the “absent folder” for your class period that is located on the table near the door.  I will have already placed a blank assignment in the folder with your name on it. It is YOUR responsibility to check for what you missed.

Class Dismissal  The teacher, not the bell, will dismiss you!  Do not start packing up prior to the bell ringing, it is disrespectful.  Finally, stay in your assigned seat until you have been dismissed from class.

Student Responsibility Card  This will be for students who DO NOT have the assigned homework ready to submit.  They are located in a black tray at the front of classroom, on top of the small filing cabinets.  Fill it out, sign and date it, and turn it in with the other homework assignments.
