Apartheid Definition: the former official south African policy of separating people according to race. Example: In 1948, under apartheid, blacks and whites were separated from each other.

Ditribution Definition: the way people or things are spread out over an area or a space. Example: The distribution of white south Africans is evenly spread.

Multiracial Definition: made up of people from several ethnic groups. Example: South Africa has four major ethnic groups called blacks, whites, coloreds, and Asians.

Segregation Definition: the separation of one group of people from another, such as by race. Example: After independence, segregation became a way of life in south Africa.
