Presentation transcript:

Community provides a private, manageable, and secure online space for organization's to communicate. It puts the collective knowledge of your entire organization at everyone’s fingertips. Community User Guide CONNECT SHARE LEARN

What is a social learning application? User-Generated Content Share documents, files, ideas and status updates Ask and answer questions Follow influential colleagues Easily search based on keyword tags Collaboration Participate in communities based upon job role, function, team, project and more Share links or files for input, ideas and feedback Seek advice from other Community members Build cross-functional teams for projects Knowledge Management Share information across the entire organization or within teams Post best practices Share information about competition and product updates Search and sort posts by content and tags Mark important posts as favorites for quick reference Peer Recognition Celebrate success across the entire organization Post bravos and positive feedback Like and comment on user-generated content

Home Page The Community “Home Page” is the place to view all communication, alerts and connection information. Continue to expand the feed by clicking on the “view more” button at the bottom.

Your Profile A Community “Profile” is pre-populated with basic information. Please upload a picture of yourself along with filling in the “About Me” section.

Multiple Communities A user may have access to multiple communities. These may represent different departments, job role functions or special projects. To view another community, click on the title as it appears to your left.

Following The ability to “follow” any members of your communities is readily available. Choosing to follow someone can be selected from their profile page. Click on their name and select “follow” on their profile page. By “following” someone, will allow for condensed activity feeds. This is separate from your community feed.

Posts “Posts” are the heart of community. Posts can be identified as status, ideas, links, files, questions or courses from the LMS. By selecting a post type, appearance will change on the feed along with searching capabilities.

Tagging It is important to “tag” posts for future reference. Tags that have been used will prepopulate in your text box. The Tag Cloud is a box of words that have been used as tags, the larger the word, the more times it has been used. By clicking on a tag, you will have the ability to view all posts with that tag.

Searching The purpose of community is to share knowledge. It is critical to be able to search historical posts. Click on the “search” link at anytime to filter by keyword, post type or tag.

Favorites At any time, favorites may be tagged for easy reference. Any posts that have been marked as favorite, can be viewed by clicking on the “Favorites” link. Posts will be listed in chronological order.

Bravos Bravos are a unique way to recognize a member of the community. Posting a congratulations, thank you or acknowledgement will be clearly visible for all community members to view.

Conversations Community allows for private exchanges of information that will not appear on the post feed. The “Conversations” link allows for creation and visibility of any exchanges the user is involved. A conversation may include multiple community members.

Engagement Every action in community is tied to a point system that is determined by the administrator. The more points accrued, the more engagement is present. It is important for all community members to participate, post and interact on a regular basis.
