Welcome to Sachar Class The teachers are: Mr Lilley – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Miss Kent- Thursday and Friday Teaching assistants are: Miss Gill and Mrs Eley

Home Reading We have a new system in school for recording how often your child reads at home. It is called Premier Reading challenge. All children are expected to read a minimum of 4 times a week. These children will get one star. Children who read more than this will receive two stars. These stars will be converted to prizes at the end of each term. Children who read less than four times a week will be ‘invited’ to read during one lunch time / week.

Behaviour Chart At St Nicholas we strive towards all children being confident, self-assured learners. We aspire to all children having excellent attitudes to learning which will subsequently have a strong positive impact on their progress. We want all children to be proud of their school and of their progress. We have introduced a 5 light system to help children achieve this.

Equipment We would appreciate you buying the following equipment for your children: Pack of Highlighters An A4 plastic, zippy wallet to keep their reading book and record book / card in.

Dates Thursday 10 th September – Kent Test. Please make sure your children have a good night’s sleep tomorrow, a good breakfast and bring in a fruit snack for Thursday. Any children not taking the test will be given work to do in another class. Monday 28 th September – Harvest Festival at The Church. You will be asked nearer the time to contribute cakes and you are welcome to attend.

Contact We are happy to discuss any concerns you may have regarding your child at any time. We are available after school when you collect your child or appointments can be made via the office.
