PROCEDURES Why do we have p? PROCEDURES Why do we have procedures?  A procedure is the way that we do things. To do things right, we have to follow some simple procedures, for example: To open your locker, you have to select your combination as directed by the lock manufacturer. To open your locker, you have to select your combination as directed by the lock manufacturer. To cook a delicious meal, you need to follow the steps in the recipe. To cook a delicious meal, you need to follow the steps in the recipe. To place a call on your phone, you need to dial the number in the right order. To place a call on your phone, you need to dial the number in the right order.  So, to be successful in learning, you need to follow some simple procedures.

Entering Classroom  Walk in quietly and professionally  Sit down at your assigned seat  Get out your empezamos (warm-up) and start working on it  When finished with warm-up, write in the day’s homework in your calendar  SMILE and be glad to be here

Tardy  Don’t let it happen- Be on Time!  If you are tardy, go to the tardy station and bring your pass to class  Sit down and start on the warm up without disrupting the class.

IF I WANT YOUR ATTENTION I WILL RING MY BELL Stop whatever you are doing at that moment. Face me and wait silently. Notify any classmates who haven’t noticed that I have raised my hand. No talking or whispering. All of your attention should be given to me.

Headings on papers Everything must have a heading Format of heading should be:  First name and last name  Date  Class Period  Put on top right hand corner of page

How will I be graded in this class? Major grades (tests, quizzes, or projects) are worth 60% of your grade Daily grades (in class activities) are worth 40% of your grade. You will have a minimum of 3 Major grades per six weeks Your semester exam is worth 20% of your semester grade. The exam is cumulative; it covers all the information we have covered during the entire semester. It is possible to fail for the entire semester if you do not do well on the exam. Having a strong average before the exam will help avoid this possibility.

How will I be graded in this class? Quizzes in my class are weighted. While a test is weighted at 1.00 making it worth 100 out of 100, a quiz is weighted at.5, making it worth 50 out of 50. Homework is also weighted in my class. Each homework assignment is weighted at.20. At the end of the week, you will have 5 assignments adding up to 100 out of 100.
