Organizing TAB You will use a 1 – 1 ½ inch binder for TAB. In TAB you will have accessories which include: practice workbookgraph paper loose leaf paper dividers (optional)

All about TINA TINA is an acronym for The Interactive Notebook for Algebra. TINA is a personalized, clear textbook A working portfolio -- all of your notes, classwork, reflections, etc. -- in one convenient spot

Left Side – Right Side Orientation L EFT SIDE Left side items contain the student’s... LEARNING Process R IGHT SIDE Right side items are items from the teacher and text to be RECEIVED And Recorded

Right Side The right is for received information. The right side belongs to Ms. McDow. The right side has “testable” information.

Examples of Ms. McDow’s Right Side Content Notes Handouts Graphic organizers Example problems worked out with written “running” commentary Content to go on a math foldable

Left Side Left is for learning process! The left side belongs to YOU! The left side is where you record your PROCESSING of the teacher- provided notes, handouts, etc.

Examples of Student Left Side Work/Products Guided practice Graphic organizers Foldables Re-written notes in your language of learning (word, diagrams, illustrations, etc.)

More Examples of Left Side Work/Products Math journal entries (e.g. writing about real-world math or assigned practice work) Creative math memory hooks (e.g. P.E.M.D.A.S) Mental math models (e.g. illustrations of fraction bars, algebra tiles, etc.)
