CLASSROOM PROCEDURES Señora Wahba La clase de Español, Aula 305 Las reglas y rutinas de la clase

¡BIENVENIDOS a la clase de Señora Wahba en la aula 305! Welcome to my Spanish 3, 4, and 4H classes! Welcome to my Spanish 3, 4, and 4H classes! I look forward to working with you and advancing you to a more advanced linguistic level. I look forward to working with you and advancing you to a more advanced linguistic level. You will not only have a successful year by developing your speaking, reading, writing and listening skills in Spanish, but you will engage in many authentic cultural experiences. You will not only have a successful year by developing your speaking, reading, writing and listening skills in Spanish, but you will engage in many authentic cultural experiences. I am enclosing on this website some of the many procedures we learn in the beginning of the year that you need to keep in mind throughout the year for success. I am enclosing on this website some of the many procedures we learn in the beginning of the year that you need to keep in mind throughout the year for success. Please know I am available almost everyday except Friday afterschool for extra help in room 305 or in the Media Center.. RIGHT AFTER THE BELL RINGS Immediately start the Do Now/ Hágalo Ahora posted. Do the Hágalo Ahora in one of the tabs in your notebook or binder. Everyday you will have an assigned Do Now or you will develop 5 questions related to the theme we are learning, you will then use these questions to ask your partner in Spanish. Then your partner will write your question and their response in their notebook. Everyday you complete your Do Now/Hágalo Ahora to the best of your ability using all the resources available, you will earn 5 points to reach 100 puntos. Every 100 puntos gives you 1 point towards your grade in Participation, which is now called “Classroom Contribution”. Keep a running tally of your points daily. Let me know as soon as you reach 100 puntos to receive your “Contribution Coupon”. I will not redeem at a later date.

WHEN YOU ARE ABSENT For your convenience I post ALL assignments. Go on my website from our districts WEBSITE: I also suggest to contact a reliable classmate. On your return to school, also check the bins in your classroom for any possible handouts given. If you missed any assignments or assessments because of your excused absence, you must arrange a time with me to make them up after school. This is your responsibility and solely rests on you!!!! Work must be made up within a time equal to the time absent. You will not be able to make -up any work if you have an unexcused absence. You will get a “0” for those assignments. If you are present for the explanation and review of the test and absent the day of the test you will be expected to take the test the day you return to school.

HOMEWORK PROCEDURE You will be given homework everyday Mon.-Fri. Again, all assignments are posted HW will be checked twice a week for Spanish 3, once for Spanish 4 and none for Spanish 4 Honors. (Excludes graded writing assignments) More individual responsibility is expected at higher levels. HW is an excellent review and practice to assure understanding of advance grammar and vocabulary. It is your responsibility to ask questions to confirm understanding. Visit PowerSchool regularly to see your progress. Meet your counselor for your private student code to log on from home.

WHEN YOU ARE TARDY Quickly and quietly sit down, say “Lo siento, Profe” and do not disturb those who arrived on time or me during instruction. It is excused only if you have a late pass from a teacher or the attendance officer. If you are tardy without a pass 2x you will serve detention for an hour. If you are tardy 10 minutes of the class period you will be recorded as an unexcused absence. (Read Agenda p15) You will not be excused from any work you missed if you don’t have an excused pass. If you have an excused tardy pass please quietly ask your partner what you missed and complete it at home.

CONSEQUENCES Warning Teacher Conference with Student in Detention/ Contact parent/Student completes Behavioral and Reflection Form Referral to School assigned Administrator for discipline **If there is no improvement in behavior, Guidance will be contacted for Parent Conference set-up.

GRADING Grading Policy is by points. Assessments & Quizzes Projects Homework Classroom Contribution/Participation **All have equal importance to succeed in Spanish class!

IF YOU FOLLOW THESE PROCEDURES WE SHOULD HAVE A SUCCESSFUL AND ENJOYABLE YEAR! Señora Wahba
