Two other paths for California Residents To recognize and reward the academic accomplishment of the state's best students. Statewide Path : Students must rank in the top 9 percent of California students, according to UC admissions index. Local Path (ELC) : Students must rank in the top 9 percent of their own high school graduating class.
Statewide Path : Top 9% Statewide Students who are in the top 9 percent of California high school graduates and aren't admitted to any of the UC campuses they apply to will be offered a spot at another campus if space is available. The admissions index is a sliding scale based on the applicant’s UC “a-g” GPA and UC Score. ■ Will be offered admission from a campus that has space available (the “guarantee pool”).
