Two other paths for California Residents To recognize and reward the academic accomplishment of the state's best students. Statewide Path : Students must rank in the top 9 percent of California students, according to UC admissions index. Local Path (ELC) : Students must rank in the top 9 percent of their own high school graduating class.

Statewide Path : Top 9% Statewide  Students who are in the top 9 percent of California high school graduates and aren't admitted to any of the UC campuses they apply to will be offered a spot at another campus if space is available.  The admissions index is a sliding scale based on the applicant’s UC “a-g” GPA and UC Score. ■ Will be offered admission from a campus that has space available (the “guarantee pool”). Admission Index: Weighted GPA UC Score total Weighted GPA UC Score total & above 184

Local Path (ELC) : Top 9% ELC  Applicants in the Top 9% of their class at a participating California high school who also meet ELC (Local Context) requirements:  Complete a specific pattern of 11 UC-approved “a-g” courses  Earn a specific GPA or higher in the 11 courses  Complete the full a-g pattern by end of the senior year ■ Will be offered admission from a campus that has space available (the “guarantee pool”). 14
