About Me This is my 12 th year teaching I received my undergraduate degree in Fitness/Wellness from Georgetown College I received my Masters in Special Education from Georgetown College All my teaching years have been here in Jessamine County I grew up in Jessamine County and went through the Jessamine County School system I’ve coached HS and MS track, HS and MS football, basketball for many years I’ve was introduced to weights and exercising 40 years ago and fell in love with it Exercising and training people to exercise is a huge part of my life I excelled in sports (basketball and football) I received a football scholarship to Georgetown College I played football at Georgetown two different times; and I have two kids who both attend the University of Louisville My son Devin is a senior and my daughter Dominique is a freshman My kids were active in soccer, track and basketball all the way through school I reside in Lexington

Enter class on time. Use the bathroom during classroom. If you are late to class, bring a signed note from wherever you came (e.g. signed note from principal). Enter class quietly, give me note, find a seat, get works (folder, writing materials) and start working. Write down the Learner Outcome and POD from board daily.

Discovery Skills Discovery skills will be used at all times When person doing the instruction raises hand, you raise hand, get quiet, and face instructor Dignity and Respect will be displayed at all times

Turning In and Receiving Graded Works Once you have completed an assignment, place it face-down on the right side of desk Someone will collect and place in appropriate tray I will grade and return the next day

Passing work All works must be passed at 80%, If not, you must correct Do your OWN work; no cheating excepted! Participation is a must!

Leaving Class Early If you have to leave class you must get a note (bathroom, focus, sick, office, principal, etc) If you are sick, I’ll call office and they’ll call back for you If it is something other, I’ll conference with you to solve the problem

FOCUS ROOM If you receive an automatic FR from me, wait patiently while we call to make sure it’s available If FR is not available, we will conference to solve the problem If you request a VR, we will conference with you and, if deemed appropriate, we will contact FR for availability If FR is not available we will conference to solve the problem

Safety Drills We take these drills seriously Fire Drill -Exit left quickly out double doors to Pavilion -Gather at appropriate spot where we take attendance again Severe Weather/Tornado Drill -Quickly and quietly go to hallway -Get on knees, face wall, bend down and cover head Lockdown Drill -Stay in class -Cut off lights -Sit quietly away from view of window -Wait for further instructions Lockout Drill -Lock door -Keep teaching/working

Leaving classroom for weight room or gym Put all materials back to correct place Push chairs in and place desks or tables back in order Gather your belongings to take with you Quickly and quietly exit classroom to weight room or gym

Weight room procedures NO horseplay Always use a spotter Use correct form at all times Start with low weight Check your heart rate Drink water Safety 1 st

Exiting class I release you not your clock Place equipment back to racks, shelves, places Clean off machines Gather all your belongings Quickly and quietly exit to lunch
