Camp 2015 Parents Meeting

Where is it? We are camping at Kearsney. It is a Kent Council campsite. The Children will be sleeping in tents. An adult will be cooking.

Changes This year camp will be for 3 days for each child. The year group will be split into 2 parts. 6 Coventry and ½ of 6 Southwark will be going at start of week. 6 Rochester and ½ of 6 Southwark will be going for second half of week.

Why are we doing this? Feedback from parents and children last year. Transport costs To enable children to have a more action packed time. Staffing numbers. Child tiredness.

Dates and times Monday 8 th June 1 st group arrive between 8:30am and 9:15am. Wednesday 10 th June 8:30am-9:15am 2nd group arrive at camp Wednesday 10 th June 5pm 1st group are collected from camp. Friday 12 th June 5:00pm 2nd group collected from camp.

Trips Kearsney Abbey Tides – Swimming If your child can not swim they will not be allowed to enter the wave machine. Fowlmeads – Biking Assault course Archery Dover castle- including tunnels

Equipment Your child will need a sleeping bag for camp. A kit list will be sent out soon. There are showers and toilets on site. Children will get mucky at camp so it is not worth buying new gear just for camp.

Medication We will have a designated adult for medications at camp. We are able to meet your children's medical needs and all staff are first aid trained. Every trip we are on the adult will have a first aid bag as well as personal medication for children such as inhalers.

Rules and expectations Rules are EXACTLY the same as school First offence = warning Second offence = yellow card (a phone call home will be given to warn parents) Third offence = red card (sent home) -Any time / any where Dangerous/violent conduct will result in an immediate red card The same for children found with a mobile phone.

Cost The cost will be no more than £80 per child. This can be paid in instalments. This will cover all activities, food and camping. The only other cost will be pocket money to spend whilst at camp.
