ROBINWOOD DOBROYD CASTLE FRIDAY 17 th April TO SUNDAY 19 th April

Lightcliffe staff Miss Bourne Mr Day Mr & Mrs Watson Mrs Schoon The coach will leave school at approximately 9:30am and arrive at Dobroyd Castle around 10:15am. The children do not need a bag on the coach as it is only a short journey to Todmorden. Their lunch will be provided when we get to the centre. Your child should arrive at school at their normal start time. Children need to be dressed appropriately for the outdoors, as they will be walking from the coach park to the centre as their first activity. They will therefore need outdoor shoes and a warm/waterproof jacket to travel in. We will be due to leave at approximately 2:00pm on the Sunday and arrive back at school at approximately 2:45pm -3:00pm.

Clothing There is no need to go out and buy anything special for a trip to Robinwood, all specialist equipment is provided. Robinwood also provides a selection of additional clothing which is ideal for activities. Additional clothing provided by Robinwood Activity Centre, includes; heavy duty waterproof cagouls, heavy duty waterproof overtrousers, full sets of clothing for the piranha pool warm fibre pile tops, warm fibre pile mittens, heavy duty wellies, footwear for watersports activities, additional towels.

Timetable The children are split into 5 activity groups Each group has their own group leader who stays with them for the weekend Each group leader is qualified to deliver all their activities

Rooms The children will be in rooms from 4 – 8 people. Closer to the time they will choose who they would like to share with There are toilets and sinks in the blocks Showers are separate from the sleeping accommodation

Medical There will be a medical and information form to fill in closer to the time which comes from Robinwood. In addition to this, school will send out a pain/fever medication form asking if you wish your child to be administered either Calpol or Piritieze if needed. Any other medication will need to be sent into school on the day of the visit with an accompanying form stating doses etc

Extra Cameras A reading book No mobile phones No electrical equipment We will send a gift shop order form home prior to the visit. They will not need to take any spending money with them.

Safety All centre staff are first aid trained, but the responsibility for sick children will lie with members of school staff. The children are insured through the school. If you wish to take out separate insurance you may do so. All the centre staff are qualified for the various different activities. A school staff vehicle will be on site in case of emergencies.
