1 FAIRTHORNE MANOR Activity centre Wellow School’s visit Tuesday 31st March – Thursday 2nd April 2014

2 Times Tuesday 31st March: Children can come to school at the usual time of 8.45. If you wish to wave your child off then please bring him/her to school for 10.00am We will be leaving school at approximately 10.15am to arrive at Fairthorne Manor by 11.00am Thursday 2nd April We will be leaving Fairthorne Manor at 2.00pm and will arrive back at school by 3.15pm. Please ensure that you collect your child at the usual time. PARENT VOLUNTEERS….

3 Accommodation Bens House Single storey accommodation Bunk beds 3/4 children sharing a room All attending need to bring a sleeping bag and pillow (bed sheets provided)

4 Catering The catering team produces nutritious well-balanced meals and provides for vegetarians and people with special dietary needs. All special catering requests must be made in advance of visit. The chef is happy to discuss any specific requirements with parents. 01489 772215

5 Below is a sample menu to give an example of what to expect. Menus change week by week Tuesday Sandwiches (ham, tom, cheese/pickle, egg mayo, tuna cucumber Crisps Or Cornish pasty Banana or apple Pasta Bolognaise Cheese Ravioli Bread Roll Gluten free Pasta Available Dessert Wednesday Pork or Quorn sausage hash browns, spaghetti hoops, toast, jam, cereal, tea, coffee and juice Sandwiches or sausage roll Crisps Banana or apple Homemade soup Chicken Pie Vegetable Pie Mashed Potatoes Peas Gravy Dessert Thursday Croissant, Cheese, Yogurt, toast, jam, cereal, tea, coffee and juice Sandwiches or Cornish pasty Crisps Banana or apple cocoa

6 Activities During their time at Fairthorne Manor the children will participate in 8 outdoor and adventure activities. 2 on the Tuesday 4 on the Wednesday 2 on the Thursday

7 Activities Team Challenge Crate Challenge Kayaking Raft Building Camo and Tracking Abseiling Aerial Runway Gig trip

8 Evenings The children take part in activities put on by the staff at Fairthorne Manor Tuesday: Wide games in the grounds or sports hall Wednesday: Campfire

9 Kit List The Following is a list of clothing and other items that you may find useful during your visit to Fairthorne Manor. Please remember that it can be cold at night and we may have the odd shower of rain, so jumpers and waterproof clothing are particularly important. Sleeping bag and pillow T Shirts Several Sweatshirts/pullovers Shorts and Jeans or Tracksuit Spare Underclothes/Socks Trainers (2 pairs) one of which is suitable to get wet/dirty Waterproof Clothing/Coat/Trousers Wellies, if you have them Hat to protect against sun and cold Torch High protection sun cream/block? You will also require plenty of comfortable clothing that can get dirty. Smart casual clothes may be useful for the evenings. Two towels, soap and toilet kit Water bottle Pyjamas A black bin bag to put dirty clothes in Maximum of £1.00 per day for the tuck shop VALUABLES ARE BEST LEFT AT HOME. Please do not send mobile phones or computer games such as a DS or IPods with your children. Or food!! THE WEARING OF JEWELLERY IS NOT ALLOWED WHEN DOING ACTIVITIES
