2 Background Information
The house itself. Open All Hours. Residential Outdoor Education Centre for over 30 years. Parish Year 4’s have been going for many years. To play the sound, place the cursor over the middle of the picture and left click when the hand icon appears.

3 Travelling There Wednesday morning:
8.55am – Children arrive at school with luggage. 9.30am – Coach leaving. 10.00 am – Children arrive at Buckden. To play the sound, place the cursor over the middle of the picture and left click when the hand icon appears.

4 Travelling Back: Friday afternoon: 2pm (ish) – leave Buckden
2.30pm (ish) – arrive back at school Please would all parents wait in the KS2 yard, near the entrance. Children will be asked to collect any 2 pieces of luggage from the back of the coach and take them to the hall. Please do not take your child home, straight off the bus. 5 Staffing: We will be taking the Year 4s as one group of 26 pupils, spilt into 3 groups for the activities. Alongside the highly qualified and experienced centre staff, the following school based adults will be attending: Mrs Barker, Mrs Armitage, Mr Wilcock, Mrs Leach, Mrs Blackwell Extra staff and Governors will visit Buckden for tea, to help with evening activities. 6 Rules of the House Outside footwear must be removed inside the house. Sensible slippers are essential (not novelty ones for safety reasons) Meals come before tuck shop and children are not allowed food or drink in their bedrooms. Children must make their own beds and help with daily tasks. Children are expected to show consideration to each other at all times. 7 Rules of the House continued:
No aerosols, mobile phones, cameras or electrical equipment (ie DS, I-Pods etc) allowed No running inside the house No children to enter other people’s dorms at any time, for any reason When in the grounds, 2 feet have to be on the floor, unless being supervised by an adult To play the sound, place the cursor over the middle of the picture and left click when the hand icon appears.

8 The Buckden day: 8am Breakfast
(toast, cereal, juice, choice of cooked breakfast) 8.30am Tidy rooms 9am Meet with the instructors 9.15am Morning activities 12.30pm Lunch ( sandwiches, crisps, fruit, biscuit, juice) 1.30pm Afternoon activities 5pm Tea 6-7pm Duties 7pm Tuck shop & evening activities 8.30pm PJs & supper 9pm Clean teeth and bed 9.30pm Lights out

9 Daytime activities: In the grounds: Team challenges Low ropes course

10 Evening activities: Main dorm inspection with interesting teddies competition Tuck shop Post-card writing (please ensure they know their address) Games (eg. rounders, cricket, football) On site orienteering Supper SLEEP (hopefully!) 11 What to wear A clothing list has already been issued.

12 Packing suitcases: Practise! Know where everything is.
