1 BIATHLON CANADA COMBINING CROSS-COUTRY SKIING AND RIFLE MARKSMANSHIP ALLIE LE SKI DE FOND ET L’ADRESSE AU TIR Executive Planning Meeting April 1-4, 2004 Web Site Biathlon Canada was advised this year by Sport Canada that our web site was not up to standards in regards to official languages (our funding was withheld until we were able to bring it up to standards) Upon commencing in my position, I felt that the web site was underused as a means of communication to our members and it was a burdenous system to update. We were paying another person to do updates and backups of the website and the site was very hard to navigate to find information I took it upon myself to overhaul the site, increase the amount of information that was on it and that could be on it for out members, and increase the bilingualism of the site as per Sport Canada standards. The site is up and running with areas that still need information added but I think that in the long run, it will be more useful and easier to navigate in. Now, I will do the updates and will train our staff to do so as well. This will reduce the costs of paying someone to add articles on a daily basis to the site. Need input and information to fill in the unused pages. Please take a look to see if your areas have current and pertinent information posted. If not, please discuss with me what needs to be added.
