FWPS/FWEAESP Negotiated Bargaining Agreement

2 ARTICLE XXIII - ESP Professional Development Committee
Section 23.1 – The ESP Professional Development Committee shall be created for the purposes of identifying the professional development needs of the members, training options, and developing training schedules that are flexible and accessible.

3 a) The ESP Professional Development Committee shall be composed of not less than four (4) members, two (2) from ESP and two (2) from management. The Association and Management can mutually agree to expand committee membership to meet committee needs.

4 b) The committee will conduct an annual needs assessment survey by March each year. Note: A survey was sent to all ESP members by the second week of December and responses were received by December 19, Close to 60% of our ESP members responded to the survey.

5 c) The committee will develop a list of training and classes based upon the needs assessment. The committee recently tallied the results and chose the top ten courses. These courses should become available to members no later than the first week of April. Once the courses have been developed or modified, all ESP members will receive instructions regarding the enrollment process.

6 d) The ESP Professional Development Committee shall be charged with developing a training schedule that is flexible and accessible. The Committee, when developing the schedule, will consider workday, evening, and weekend options. The survey showed members preferred to have trainings Tuesday through Thursdays after 4:00 p.m.
