Presentation transcript:

Target audience = mainly 16-24years ( college strand ) but has to appeal to the actual target audience for OCR therefore covering all of these as best as possible. News stories within bulletin should appeal to all backgrounds and realistically should be contextual to the local area.

Even though these students aren’t from Oldham, they are representational of the target audience. Being students, they would listen to the radio between 7am-9am (the slot that our bulletin would be aired) and they are both a different ethnic background (something which OCR encourages within the radio station).

The same can be same for this group of students however they are representing a different ethnic background.

We can see from the people that work in the offices at OCR are not students or young people therefore indicating that their radio station also appeals to a much wider range of people in terms of age. Therefore our news bulletin also had to have certain aspects to it that would attract OCR’s target audience as well as our own.

The same for the actual reporters and many of the DJ’s at the radio station applies. This meant that our bulletin had to something in which you could imagine getting played on the radio station and a piece of media that would fit into the rest of the radios schedule.

We can infer from this that it is not just students that we need to appeal to. Even though we were expected to make our bulletin for a younger audience, a lot of OCR’s audience is of a higher age and therefore we needed to make sure they would listen to it too.
