Read the article silently to yourself. Circle words you don’t know/not sure about. Write down your First Impression of the article in a sentence or two on the back. (What do you think the article is saying) F.I.C. First Impression

Re-read the article. Underline information that helps you answer the following questions. Write your answers on the back: 1..What does the author say a hero is? 2..What are some qualities of a hero? 3..Who are the true heroes? F.I.C. Interpret the Text : 2 nd Read

Re-read or scan the text ONE MORE TIME. Mark (underline, circle, highlight, star) evidence that helps you answer the following questions in 3 or more sentences. 1.
