5. Writing – In your Writing Notebook - be sure to date entry:
If not finished with Close Reading Activity, Finish that first.
Look in your backpack and make a list of everything you carry in your backpack.
List any significance that applies
Additionally, create a list of anything you carry mentally – in your head or your heart and any significance attached
Now, write a paragraph explaining what you carry in your backpack, your heart, and your head, and explain the significance and/or what it all means to you.
You need not include in your paragraph everything from your original lists, just the most significant and meaningful

6. Watch Video for The Things They Carried and interview by high school student of a Viet Nam War Vet
