Objectives of the Service · To provide a single search repository of titles available in Australia and their publisher/distributor information · To establish a user-friendly price and availability service to enable searching on titles available in Australia · To provide a cost effective service for booksellers and publishers TitlePage, the Industry Price & Availability Service

Background · Exhaustive tender process with Hothouse chosen on the basis of cost, technology & benefits in April 2003 · Workshops held with publishers & booksellers in May 2003 · 7 publishers committed funds to build the system in August 2003 and 8th publisher joined in May 2004 · Further market consultation before signing off specification in Dec 2003 and starting development in Jan 2004 · Initial demo at APA AGM in March 2004 when costs were finalised and publisher subscription model approved · Testing by publishers & booksellers in May/June 2004 · Demonstrations of preview site during roadshows in June 2004 before launch in August 2004 TitlePage, the Industry Price & Availability Service
