Schedule Your Visits Call Wenjia or Michelle at and leave a message OR There are limited openings in each classroom – you must make an appointment BY NOON THE DAY BEFORE to enter the classroom.

Rescheduling and Canceling If your visitation plan changes you need to CANCEL your observation hours. Contact Wenjia or Michelle to reschedule your missed hours- (803) or Treat this like a job; if you are going to miss work, you call and let someone know. EXCESSIVE RESCHEDULING AND ABSENCES WILL RESULT IN YOUR DISMISSAL FROM THE CENTER.

Lanyards Purchase your personal lanyard from the SC bookstore or any office supply store Insert your student ID into the clear holder You must be wearing a lanyard to enter the classrooms.

General Expectations Wear a name tag with your USC student ID. Push the red button by the keypad to be let in the door to the classrooms. Sign in and out with the Easy Lobby system at the front desk AND in the binder in the classroom. Dress comfortably but neatly – you may get wet or dirty! NO short shorts or skirts OR bare midriffs. NO flip-flops, shorts must be knee length, no rip jeans, no strappy tops, don't wear dangling jewelry in the infant room. You must wear shoes with CLOSED TOES for your safety Noticeable tattoos need to be covered when you are working at the Center Facial piercings must be removed before entering the center (non dangling earrings are ok) No long fingernails No chewing gum

You will not be permitted in the classroom if you smell like alcohol, smoke OR perfume. NO CELL PHONE USE is allowed in the Center Be sure your personal belongings are out of reach of children. Ask the classroom teacher where you should place your items. DO NOT sit on any shelves! You need to come as planned, but DO NOT COME IF YOU ARE SICK. Call the to let them know you will not be there. Contact Wenjia or Michelle when you finish your observations or if you drop the course. You can leave a phone message at or

Transportation There is NO STUDENT PARKING at the center. The BLUE line of the Shuttlecock stops nearby. You may use a metered spot. Additionally, the Bull Street and Horizon garages (on Main St.) provide hourly parking for a charge.

What to do? Wash your hands when you arrive. Take off your shoes (wear socks) in the Infant rooms. Plan to be actively involved with children. Limit your conversations with adults. Be sure that all conversations are professional. ENJOY YOUR TIME WITH THE CHILDREN!

What is required? You must turn in a current SLED check prior to beginning your observations. Last year’s SLED clearances are still valid. If you think you have a valid SLED check on file ask Wenjia or Michelle to look it up. With SLED clearance you are NOT permitted to be unsupervised with children.

SLED CLEARANCE We will provide you with a user id and password. Click on “Criminal Records check” and follow the instructions. You are eligible for the reduced $8 rate. You must use a credit card for this transaction You will not be permitted into the Center until we have received your SLED printout.

Checking Out Be sure to check out before you leave the Center.
