Curriculum-Framing Questions Essential Questions Does time matter in our life? Unit Questions How do you express the passed events? How do you communicate at different time levels? Content Questions How can we state events with the use of past tense? What is a present tense? How we use it in our daily surroundings?

Unit Summary Students are divided into two groups and given different tasks. The first group is asked to write a dialogue and the second group is asked to write a story. A research task will be given to students to study about past and present tense using internet and books. They will review the written work under the light of their research. During all these activities, they will collaborate through wikis and blogs. At the end they will perform a role play.

The Tense Project This project will help my students develop 21 st century skills by: Collaborating with peers Analyzing data about present and past tense and drawing conclusions to answer Unit Questions Solving problems and making decisions about their research Communicating with others through wikis and blogs

Gauging Student Needs Assessment Purpose of the Assessment To gather information about what students already know about Present and Past Tenses and how would they apply them in real life context. What I want to learn from my students? I want to find out what they already know about the Unit Questions and what they know about setting a role play. How I have tried to promote higher-order thinking? I asked students to research the Tenses and draw conclusions about them.

How the assessment information helps me and my students plan for upcoming activities in the unit? If students have misconceptions about how to set up experiments, I can provide scaffolds. If students have different level of understanding about the concept of Present and Past Tense, I can provide various resources. We will revisit this assessment throughout the unit for students to add their knowledge. What Feedback or additional ideas I’d like? I would like help on my assessment. I think I need to elicit more higher-order thinking.

My Goals for the Course Find ways to get my students more interested in learning English Learn about different kinds of technology my students and I can use Share ideas with other teachers

Goals for my Students To learn how we use tenses in our surroundings. To become more independent learners To come up with their own critical and creative thinking

Request for Feedback Places I could find a classroom in different climate for my students to work with Ideas for helping students take more responsibility for their own learning

THE END
