Birthdays We celebrate birthdays in class. Your child will receive a birthday crown, book, and stickers. You may send a NON-FOOD treat to share with the class (ex: bubbles, pencils, stickers, etc.)

Volunteering I encourage you to volunteer to help in the classroom and with specials. We realize that many parents work and have small children so anyway you can help is appreciated. Please me or call me before you stop in so we can set up a time for you to help. When you come to school, FIRST stop in the office and sign-in so we know you are here. We ask that no siblings accompany parents during volunteering. We need volunteers for: Field Trips- TBD Center time-daytime availability (1 hour) Clerical work- cutting, copying, assembling (A-Z books, see sign up)

Attendance Policy When your child is absent from school, please phone the school’s attendance line This is available 24 hours a day. You must report the absence and the reason for the absence. Please make every effort to place the call by 9AM the day of the absence. We kindly thank you for your cooperation.

Gingerbread Man Extension Gingerbread Man helped us learn about our new school by leaving notes with clues on his whereabouts. Students will guess where he was and go find him. Let’s continue the excitement! Please have relatives send post cards from other areas of the state, country, or world from the Gingerbread Man. 1.Send to: Jen Marcucci, 5205 Kingston Ave Lisle, IL, 60532) Connecting this lesson to social studies and geography!

All About Me Each week a child will be selected to give a minute presentation about themselves. You will receive a note the week before it is your child’s turn outlining the expectations of the project. Your child will practice talking about his/her interests and family. I will guide the questions and facilitate the discussion. Think advanced Show and Tell!
