Austell Primary School Welcome to Open House! Mrs. Headlee & Mrs. Stockwell’s Kindergarten Class

Uniform Dress Code BOYS Khaki or Navy pants, or long shorts fitted at the waist Black or brown belt Plain navy or light blue shirts with a collar (polo style or light blue Oxford style shirt with navy tie; no sleeveless shirts, shirts must be tucked in trousers) Plain black, white, or brown tennis shoes, loafers, or boots (no sandals, open toe shoes, heelies, or flip flops) Plain white, black, brown, or navy blue socks Solid colored navy blue or white sweaters or long-sleeve shirts with a collar for winter GIRLS Khaki or navy pants, knee length skirts, skorts or shorts (knee length is below the child's fingertips when standing with hands at their sides) Black or brown belt Plain navy blue or light blue blouse/shirts with a collar (polo style or Oxford style blouses; no low cut or sleeveless shirts or blouses Plain black, white, or brown tennis shoes, loafers, or boots (no sandals, open toe shoes, heelies, or flip flops) Plain white, black, brown, or navy blue socks

Absences and Tardies Students should be at school by 7:50 each morning. Attendance is very important!!! Parents will be notified by the school after 5 absences. Make sure to send in an excuse for an absence. Please send a note for any transportation changes in the B.E.E. Book or call front office.

Class Rules Listen and Follow Directions Keep Hands and Feet to Yourself Be respectful to others at all times.

Breakfast If your child is eating breakfast at school, he/she needs to be here by 7:30. This should give children enough time to eat and return to the room by 7:50. You can pay for your child’s breakfast/lunch online at

Snacks Each child will be responsible for bringing a snack from home each day. Please make sure the snack is healthy and requires no utensils or refrigeration. No drinks. We have a water fountain in our room.

Daily Folders Please make sure you are checking your child’s B.E.E. Book each night, helping them with their homework and discussing behavior with them. Homework is sent home on Monday and should be returned completed on Friday. Please return books sent home the next day unless it is a copied paper book. They may keep that at home. Please make sure folders are signed daily.

Sight Words Every six weeks we will introduce a new set of sight words. At the end of that six week period your child will be tested on those sight words If your child has mastered 15 words from that set of sight words, then he/she will get a special treat.

Standards-Based Curriculum The Kindergarten report card aligns our state- wide standards with our assessment in class. Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Technology, Art, Music, PE 1,2,3 or 3+ for exceeding standards

GKIDS Georgia Kindergarten Inventory of Developing Skills Test each student at various times throughout the school year Parents will receive printout of results at end of school year =CI_TESTING_GKIDS =CI_TESTING_GKIDS
