Electrical Engineering Lab 2 nd Year Kindly consult the lab coordinator immediately if your name is not listed to avoid any lab list problem

Lab Objectives To expose the students to some common electrical components and measurement instruments that can be used in experiments on the electrical and electronic engineering. On the other hand, this laboratory will provide the skill of using electronic devices and measurement instruments to the students. This subject also helps the students to apply the basic theory based on electrical and electronic engineering in designing problems.

Experiment Topics Offered (All) ELETROTECHNIC LAB (4 Experiment Topics – 4 weeks duration) 1. Experiment 2- Norton and Superposition Theorems 2. Experiment 3 – AC Circuit 3. Experiment 4 – R-L and R-C Series Circuit Transient 4.Experiment 6 – RLC Series Transient Circuit 5.Additional experiment (apply only to FREE) 6. Additional experiment (apply only to FREE)

Experiment Topics Offered (All) BASIC ELECTRONICS LAB (4 weeks duration) Experiment 1 - Diodes Experiment 2 - Amplifier (2 weeks) Experiment 3 – Operational Amplifier. Important note: Need to bring your own breadboard

Experiment Topics Offered (FKE only) DIGITAL LAB (1 Project based ) – 4 weeks duration 1.Experiment 1 - Introduction to Project 2. Experiment 2 - Design and Simulation 3. Experiment 3 - Implementation Part 1 4. Experiment 4 - Implementation Part 2 Important note : Need to bring your own breadboard and do not detach the wires connection until experiment 4 completed

LAB ASSESSMENT LAB MARKS: 1. Pre-lab mark = 20% (Individual - hand-in before lab start) 2- Report mark = 20% (Group – report form provided) 3- Interview mark= 20% (Individual – during experiment session) 4. In-lab performance mark= 40%

LAB ASSESSMENT - Pre-lab mark = 20% Each pre-lab work must be handed in to the lab at the beginning of lab session

In-lab performance mark = 40% LAB ASSESSMENT Please fill in your name in the attendance / performance evaluation form each time you attending the lab.

- Short report mark = 20% A short lab report must be submitted before leaving the lab. LAB ASSESSMENT Each submitted short lab report must be attached with a short report evaluation form.

LAB ASSESSMENTS oral interview mark = 20% -Interview will be held in the final hour for each person for each experiment topic. - Each student will be interviewed individually for about 10 minutes.

Lab Replacement Lab replacement will only be allowed with the permission from the lab coordinator with valid reasons such as: - sick/illness : A medical certificate must be issued and verified by the UTM Clinic and submitted to the coordinator immediately. - involved in UTM/faculty activities: Any correspondence letter ( a duplicate ) must be submitted to the coordinator or lab assistant.
