Benefits of a balanced diet : 1. Opting for a balanced, adequate and varied diet is an important step towards a happy and healthy lifestyle. 2. Vitamins and minerals in the diet are vital to boost immunity and healthy development 3. A healthy diet can protect the human body against certain types of diseases, in particular noncommunicable diseases such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, some types of cancer and skeletal conditions.

4. Healthy diets can also contribute to an adequate body weight. 5. Healthy eating is a good opportunity to enrich life by experimenting with different foods from different cultures, origins and with different ways to prepare food. 6. The benefits of eating a wide variety of foods are also emotional, as variety and colour are important ingredients of a balance diet.

The Positive and Negative Sides of Popular Diet

Advantages of Diet Speedy weight loss – Atkins diet helps you in losing weight very quickly. People who have already tried this got heart soothing results like 10lbs in the very first week. Also, it controls your hunger pangs and reduced it to zero. Along with this Atkins diet triggers your blood sugar level. Cuts down the amount of carbs – Extreme intake of carbohydrates can lead to weight gain. But Atkins diet has the potent to cut down the amount of carbohydrates from your diet. You never go hungry on low carb diets – Another benefit of Atkins diet is you can always eat whatever you want. There is no need to restrict yourself. With this low carb diet, you easily give up major sources of sugars and bad starches.

Disadvantages Diet Uncomfortable – Low energy levels, jaundiced skin, bad breath and constipation are some common complaints of those on the Atkins diet. People give up on it after few days – Atkins diet restricts the consumption of carbohydrates and due to this boredom people may find it tedious. This diet consists of more salads and less of the favorite foods such as sugar filled desserts, rice, pasta and potatoes. Risk of calcium loss – In Atkins diet there is also a risk of calcium loss. Loss of calcium can result out in the weakening of bones that is generally known as osteoporosis. This ailment reduces the density of bones and makes them brittle and breaks easily.
