MySOS User Guide

LIGHTS What do the Lights Mean? GSM Light Light shows a slow single flash every five seconds when the device has a GSM signal. Light shows a slow double flash every five seconds when the device is registered to the GPRS network. Light not flashing. This means the device has been unable to connect to the network. 4

LIGHTS What do the Lights Mean? Battery Light Continuously lit when battery is charging and switches off when fully charged. Light flashes once every two seconds when operating normally. When the SOS button is pressed, the battery indicator light will flash rapidly to acknowledge button press and will then flash normally. The light will flash three times every five seconds when the battery is low and requires charging. 5

LIGHTS What do the Lights Mean? GPS Light All Lights Light flashes blue when device has acquired a GPS signal. All Lights • All lights flashing simultaneously at the same time is a warning that the SIM card has failed to register with the device. The MySOS needs to be restarted to rectify the problem. • If the problem persists, the battery is low in power and needs recharging immediately. 6

CHARGING Charging the Device You must fully charge the battery before using the device for the first time. Plug the charger into the MySOS unit’s USB port and connect to a 240 volt wall socket. Please do not use excess force when plugging the charger into the USB port as this may damage the connection. The device will take 8 - 12 hours to charge before using it for the first time. Thereafter, it will only take 3 - 5 hours to fully re-charge. The battery light will switch off once the MySOS is fully charged. Please note, the device should only be charged with chargers supplied by Skyguard. 7

ON / OFF Switching the Device On and Off To switch the device on or off, press and hold the side ‘On / Off’ button for four seconds. All three lights will illuminate fully and then rapidly flash when the device is turned on. When turning the MySOS off, the battery light will illuminate fully along with the GSM and GPS lights flashing, to confirm the device is switched off. 8

RAISING AN ALARM Activating an SOS Alarm Press and hold the large SOS button for four seconds. An alarm containing the device's location will be sent to the IMC. An audible beep will be heard confirming the two-way voice connection has been made. Note; this can take up to one minute. The Skyguard controller will be listening to the call silently and only talk if they believe it is safe to do so. If you activate the MySOS device by mistake, please inform the Skyguard controller as soon as the call is answered by saying “Activation call”. The controller will ask questions based on your user details to confirm that it is not an emergency and will then end the call. 9

ESCALATION Escalation Instructions In the event of a verified alarm: Contact the appropriate Emergency Services Follow the account escalation instructions Follow the user escalation instructions Despatch the National Response Service if the Emergency Services are not required, available or if the situation is unclear. 10

VOICE MEMO Leaving a Voice Memo A voice memo can be left by pressing the Call 1 button for three seconds. Speaking clearly, leave your voice message when prompted. To end the memo, press the Call 1 button again. Memo should state your name, company and key info – be brief. 11

PHONE CALL Making a Phone Call Speed Dial button 2 will call Skyguard’s Customer Service Team. To make a call to the pre-set phone number, press and hold the “Call 2” button for three seconds. The GSM light will start to flash to confirm the request. To end the call, press the SOS button. 12

POSITION REPORTS Send a Position Report Press and hold the small side button for one second to send your current GPS location to the IMC. This information is stored against your account and will be accessible in the case of a future incident or when a location report is requested. Note: Holding the small side button for four seconds will switch the device off. 13

IMPORTANT When Doing a Trial Alarm Activation… Always say “Activation Call” when the 2-way audio connects to the IMC If it is a real emergency, DO NOT say “Activation Call.” 15

REMEMBER Things to Remember Charge your MySOS daily Acquire a GPS fix every time it is powered on Carry your MySOS at all times 16
