A Vote of Thanks to Ms Cheung Hokling (WTSS) Mr. Alan Law, student helper Sampson, one of our classmates Please give them a big hand.

Please be patient and thank you This is a new development of the Department and probably the first of its kind in HK. We have tried our very best to make it work and user-friendly. If you face trouble, Ms Tang Mei Hing, Ms Paulie Chan, and Dr. TY LEE are willing to help. Thank you for your patience & cooperation.

End of first session To be continued

Potential Problems Hecker Virus: This is the most difficult problem. Design Problem: Welcome your suggestions

More Potential Problems Hardware Problems –Server Down –Modem speed too slow –Disconnect while submitting You have typed so much stuff but they just disappear!

Strategies for instructors Use Word Processing software to prepare comments and feedback Keep copies of these documents Use copy and paste function to submit written comments Use a form to grade those 99 assessment items first Backup important files

Strategies to prevent from being infected For Students When you use the computer in CSC or library, reboot it before use Always check virus When you are asked whether to run “Macro” while you are working on documents, say “NO!”

For Staff The department will install anti-virus software that can scan while you are on- line. It is better not to download the files from the web site. Do not totally rely on anti-virus software.

Be environmentally- friendly, use the web !
