 Volleyball was invented in1895 by William Morgan in Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA.  It is a team sport that is part of the Olympic games.  The indoor game consists of six players per team.  Three front row players  Three back row players

 Scoring system used is called Rally Scoring.  One point is awarded every time a team wins the ball.  Games are to 25 points, however, you must win by two points.  Server must be totally behind the line when the ball is contacted or it is a fault and the other team gains a point and possession.  Serving team calls their score, then their opponent’s score before every serve.

 Teams rotate in a clockwise direction.  You may not change your rotation order after the game starts.  When the non serving team wins the ball, they rotate one position.  The back right position is the serving position.  Players may serve from anywhere behind the end line.

 You may not touch the net with any part of your body.  Any player may not touch the ball consecutively.  Three hits maximum per side.  You may not catch the ball.  Ball hitting the boundary line is in bounds.

 You may not kick the ball.  Roll the ball under the net to return it to the other team.  Always demonstrate good sportsmanship.  Keep your eye on the ball.  The ball may touch the net at anytime and it is playable.
