YamWin Conversations Social Journey Template

What is a YamWin Conversation? Like Your network contains valuable conversations that show how Yammer helps employees to collaborate, communicate and get more done. Examples of YamWin conversations involve instances when employees have used Yammer to: ask questions and find answers faster; collaborate to solve a problem; discover valuable information from past discussions; connect individuals to expertise and information; connect individuals across geography or job titles; and much more. Tagging conversations with the topic “Value" or “YamWin" can be a great way organize quality Yammer threads and make them easy to resurface. However, sometimes reading a thread doesn't expose the inherent value that lies underneath. This guide helps explain how to uncover the underlying business value. Additional Resource: http://blog.yammer.com/blog/2010/05/mining-the-value-of-microsharing.html

What does this thread show? Identification of non-routine task from an employee on the night crew. Non-Email user. Charleston Dallas Confirmation from other stores nationally. Salt Lake City National Connectivity Phoenix This thread demonstrates the following: Identification of a non-routine work. Non-routine work puts more decision making and discretion in the hands of the individual contributor. Companies need tools like Yammer that will help individual employees better make informed decisions and perform non-routine work. Access to communication tools for non-email/frontline workers that have not been available before. Problem identification from geographically dispersed employees. Problem resolution and communication from leadership. This thread originates from an employee working the night shift. This employee is also one who doesn’t have an email address, so Yammer has given him a way to interact with the rest of the company in a way that he hasn’t had before. He is identifying an issue with some product his store has received. The next 3 responses show confirmation from stores in other parts of the country that have experienced the same issue. In one place, the company is able to identify an issue that is impacting at least 3 other store locations, from firsthand employee feedback. The VP of Manufacturing and Sourcing weighs in to acknowledge the issue. She later follows up with a resolution to the problem. Executive level acknowledgement. Chicago Problem resolution. *These conversations are based on true YamWin stories, but the names and events have been changed.

What does this thread show? Chicago Application of Learning Atlanta Forecasting Singapore Global Connectivity This thread demonstrates: Application of learning Forecasting of future L&D demand A possible copyright violation Program evangelism This thread is great for learning and development audiences. It starts with a person asking for help with customer segmentation. Katie responds with some information about some tools she received based on a marketing program she attended. She has indicated some level of application of learning here. Something all L&D professionals are striving to see from the training they deliver. Alex is interested in sending some of his team through the training. This is helpful for the L&D organization because it helps them forecast future attendance. This is an opportunity for L&D to proactively reach out to Alex to provide follow up and more information. Katie offers to share the tools she acquired from her marketing training. This *could* be a copyright violation, at which point it would be good for an L&D person to step in and indicate that the materials should only be shared with those that have already gone through the program. This is also an opportunity to reinforce any messaging in class that materials should not be shared without prior consent. Pavel has gone through the web based version of the marketing program. He is evangelizing this is a viable option for others if they are not able to do the instructor led version. Copyright Violation? Program Evangelist Portland

Finding and Flaunting YamWins Yammer Leaderboards is a great starting place to identify valuable conversations. In the left navigation under Apps, click on Leaderboards to find your most popular conversations. Additionally, train employees to add the topic to YamWin conversations when they happen! And encourage your community managers to help expose these conversations and lead by example. Once you find these conversations, utilize them to gain support and increase engagement throughout your company. Some ways you can put these wins to work for you is by sharing examples of valuable conversations in a monthly report to senior executives or by featuring a Yammer success story in an article on your company intranet or blog.
