Food Half board Breakfast and evening meal Stock up for a busy day Take plenty of water with you. Lunch – grab and go!!! (Money needed for this). You are advised that snacks are quite expensive in Iceland, maybe bring a multipack of chocolate bars with you!

Swimming Only allowed in the Blue Lagoon when the teachers are around. Water is very shallow, waste height. Cover Hair with conditioner before entering. Shampoo/conditioner provided at the Blue Lagoon Pack swimming kit in hand baggage

Itinerary – Day 1 – 21 st March Coach leaves BRS at 8 am Check in: Birmingham Airport 09:40 Flight no. BE1828 Flybe – Have brunch at the airport – bring own food or buy there – Departs: 11:40 Birmingham International Airport – Arrive: 14:30 Keflavik Airport. 15:30 – Blue Lagoon. We stop here for approximately 1.5 hours for the swim of your lifetime. 17:00 Estimated departure from the Lagoon 17:45 Check in at Hotel Cabin 19:00 Dinner at hotel – Buffet style with soft drink

Itinerary – Day 2 – 22 nd March 07:30 Breakfast at the hotel. 08:30 Drive from Reykjavik over the mountain pass which offers a magnificent view of the wide plains formed by glacial rivers, now fertile farmland in South- Iceland. View Hekla, the country’s most active volcano and the towering, ice capped strato volcano E15. 11:00 A visit to two Spectacular waterfalls 12:30 Travel past a magnificent rocky headland with sheer cliffs, with a huge wave cut gap in its ocean facing tip to the beautiful sited village of Vík, where we will stop for lunch. 18:30 Approximate arrival at the hotel and some free time. 19:30 Evening meal at Hotel – Buffet style with soft drink – Evening educational activity

Itinerary – Day 3 – 23rd March 07:30Breakfast at the hotel 09:00 Departure from the hotel. Enroute we will stop at a powerplant for a short introduction of how Iceland utilises its geothermal energy. 10:30 We continue the day by heading to a National Park, to the site of the world's oldest democratic parliament founded in 930. We will stand in the middle of two tectonic plates that are moving apart A visit to the famous Great Geysir. Here we will see one of the most active geysers in the area, spouting up to 30 meters (98 feet) approximately every ten minutes. 14:00 After Gullfoss we head back to Reykjavik. 17:00 Approximate arrival back into Reykjavik. 18:30 Dinner at local restaurant – Red Chilli - Menu Choice between: BBQ Burger with bacon and cheese, Chicken sandwich with garlic pepper sauce and vegetarian quesadillas. Group walks to/from restaurant in the evening

Luggage Checked baggage allowance: 20kg. One item of hand baggage per person, weighing no more than 10kg and with dimensions of less than 55cm x 40cm x 25cm including handles and wheels. Please note that because of the size of the aircraft, this allowance is slightly smaller than other airlines permit Everything you take into the cabin must fit into the one carry- on bag including handbags, camera bags, airport purchases etc.

Kit List Wash kit – tooth brush, tooth paste, roll on deodorant, shampoo, body wash, soap. Towel Appropriate flat footwear e.g. trainers/walking boots (preferred and safer) Appropriate clothing – Layers. Very cold wintery weather. Waterproof jacket and trousers. Thermal. Appropriate swimwear – the pool may be very cold. Flip flops for Blue Lagoon Hat, gloves and scarf Passport (Use safety deposit box) EHIC card Money Cameras and phones can be brought, but are students’ own responsibility. Wifi access is limited and rarely free in Iceland.

Money £80 worth of Icelandic Krona should be more than enough for lunch and souvenirs. Use the safety deposit boxes in rooms. Any English money for snacks at the airport.

Medical Labelled and given to Mr Harris Time to take, dosage. Please speak to Mr Harris at the end of the presentation about any medical needs Inhalers are pupils responsibility.
