Accommodation Meals Breakfast in the hotel Packed Lunch Evening Meals in local restaurant

Field Work

What will the weather be like?

Kit List Check List Passport and photocopy; passports should be left with other valuables in the hotel safe. The passport photocopy should be carried at all times. Changes of clothing, including smart dress for urban fieldwork. Trousers and/or jeans for leg protection at fieldwork sites. Long sleeve clothing helps to prevent mosquito bites. Old clothing is essential for the rivers day and coasts work. Wet weather clothing. Strong shoes or boots– these can be thick soled trainers but not just ‘pumps’. Sun cream, hat, sunglasses, water bottle. Mosquito repellent. Plug adaptor for U.K. appliances such as a hair dryer. Fieldwork notebook. Pens, pencils, ruler, protractor, compass, calculator, rubber, pencil sharpener. Pencil sharpeners and compasses should not be carried in hand luggage. Camera and film. Money for incidental purchases. Essential prescribed medicines if appropriate. Flip flops for use around the hotel Rucksack/shoulder bag for carrying around equipment and packed lunch during the day

Valuables (best not to bring any!) – Barcelona is renowned for its pick pockets so a money belt which you can hide under your clothes would be a good idea. Mobile phones - Jersey pay as you go are very expensive roaming. If you must bring one it is your responsibility and must be off when working. Camera – a digital camera is useful for the course work, but not essential – we will be sharing all our pictures at the end. I pods etc – make sure they are named and realize that they are your responsibility.

Put everything in one bag which you can carry yourself – there will be no porters to carry your bags off coaches etc!! 20kg max and have a small bag for the flight

Safety Issues We will be working in potentially risky environments both in the City, coastal and river sites. Therefore it is essential that all students listen to and act upon instructions, keep to deadlines and behave in an acceptable manner. If students are found to be putting others in danger or are caught drinking or smoking they may be asked to return home which will be at the cost of parents.
