25 th June 2012 Unit 2 Catch Up Session : Individual Rights LO: To ensure all Unit 2 Portfolio work is completed to pass/merit/distinction standard. Starter 1 Look over the unit 2 Portfolio file to remind yourself of each task if you have not already printed it of then do so. 2 Now look over your feedback sheet and make a note of which tasks you need to complete and/ or upgrade.

Assignment 1: A diverse and Equal Society Task 1 (P1) Define : Equality, Stereotype, Diversity and Discrimination Research and collate information and images about different social factors that contribute to a diverse and equal society. Make a poster in the form of a mind map to show your findings. Task 2 (P1) Research and collate information about different political factors that contribute to a diverse and equal society. Explain why each piece of legislation or act has helped individuals who may have been discriminated against. Task 3 (P1) Research and collate information about different biological factors that contribute to a diverse and equal society.

Assignment 2: Individual rights of people who use services Task 1 (P2) Define Rights, Respect and Dignity Scenario: Using the information on page 38 and 39 identify the rights of people who use care services. Choose one of the following and give an example of how each right could be applied in the setting. A doctors surgery A care home for the elderly
