Georgia State University Dual Enrollment Task Force: The Key to Program Success

Dual Enrollment Model: One University, Two Options Georgia State University offers programs to give high school juniors and seniors, who meet the application requirements, the opportunity to enroll in undergraduate courses at both the Atlanta Campus and the Perimeter campuses. GSU Atlanta Campus GSU PC Campuses In addition to 1000 and 2000-level courses, have a few options for 3000- and 4000-level courses Classes are taken only at the Atlanta campus 1000- and 2000-level courses only are available through Perimeter Campuses Classes are taken at one of the 6 Perimeter campuses Alpharetta Clarkston Decatur Dunwoody Newton Online

Program Growth + Consolidation = Dual Enrollment Task Force 2018-2019 Program Enrollment: Fall Semester: 1,919 students Spring Semester: 1,771 students Increasing Enrollment Numbers necessitate the creation of a university wide task force to ensure continued program success

GSU Dual Enrollment Eligibility Be entering 11th or 12th grade Be on track to graduate Meet lawful presence requirements Obtain approval of the high school counselor and parent(s)/legal guardian(s) Remain in good academic standing with a 2.0 GPA or higher at Georgia State University to remain eligible for the program Submit a completed Immunization form to Georgia State Health Services. GSU Dual Enrollment Admissions Requirements Atlanta Campus Perimeter College GSU Dual Enrollment Admissions Requirements Students must meet all of the following: GPA: 3.0 (+) as calculated by GSU Test Scores SAT: 26.5 (+) Math 26 (+) Reading ACT: 21 (+) Math 20 (+) English Students must meet all of the following: GPA: 3.0 (+) as calculated by GSU Freshman Index: 2600 or higher Test Scores SAT 28 (+) Math 29 (+) Reading ACT 23 (+) Math 23 (+) English

TASK FORCE GOALS Improve and streamline the GSU process that students use to apply and enroll Development of a strong communication pipeline to keep university personnel up to date on the most current changes from all relevant departments effecting DE students Facilitate joint ventures involving all departments represented on the Task Force in support of Dual Enrollment

TASK FORCE TEAM MEMBERS Identified departments that students interface with from interest to graduation. Reached out to those departments and reached out to specific people and partners Possible inclusion of Representatives from: Communications Technology Student Affairs Financial Aid Academic Deans Testing High School Partner Dual Enrollment Task Force Office of Enrollment Management Bookstore Early College Student Accounts University Advisement Center Office of the Registrar

University Departments Role in Dual Enrollment Success Recruitment Designated Admission Counselors manage Dual Enrollment recruitment in partnership with Assistant Director of DE Continued communication with DE team Assist in development of DE deliverables Support with DE new student orientations Admissions Development of DE admissions requirements for both options Establishment of application deadlines Management and design of application as it relates to DE Processing and decision applicants Office of the Registrar Registration Management of Student Information System as it relates to DE Insight into new system developments and capabilities University Departments Role in Dual Enrollment Success
