1 FACULTY AND STAFF RESOURCE GUIDE FOR STUDENTS IN DISTRESS
The Division of Student Affairs has developed this guide to aid faculty & staff in assisting students experiencing difficulties DANGEROUS STUDENT Safety is an immediate concern: verbal or physical threats to harm others. Active suicide threat. SUICIDAL STUDENT Threatens to harm self, has expressed thoughts about not wanting to live or any form of suicide ideation. DISRUPTIVE Demonstrates bizarre or concerning behavior or communications that disrupt the learning environment When in an emergency where safety is an immediate concern, call 911. For non-emergency safety concerns call the GSU Police. If it is after-hours, they can contact the appropriate on-call staff for assistance. The Counseling and Testing Center and the Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS) are available for consultation. The Office of the Dean of Students can facilitate campus efforts & provide support for faculty & staff.
